Riding the Great Divide with Ryan Van Duzer: Connor Swegle on Bike Talk with Dave This summer, Priority co-founder and CMO Connor Swegle traded the office for 500+ miles of gravel on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, riding alongside our longtime friend and collaborator Ryan Van Duzer. Now the two of them are telling the story on Episode 180 of Bike Talk with Dave, the bikepacking, gravel and all-things-bike podcast hosted by Dave Mable. In 35 minutes, Connor and Ryan walk through what it took to ride the Divide, why we invited our community to come along, and how the bikes held up when the roads got rough. If you followed the ride on the live tracker this summer, this is the behind-the-scenes version. The Ride The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route runs roughly 2,700 miles from the Canadian border to Antelope Wells, New Mexico. It’s the longest off-road cycling route in the world. In 2026, Ryan rode it for the third time to mark the 50th anniversary of the Adventure Cycling Association, the nonprofit that maps it. Ryan set out on June 22. Connor joined him for the stretch from Salida, Colorado, to Grants, New Mexico, an eight-day run of remote gravel. About two dozen riders from the Priority community came too, after we put out an open invite. That’s what made this ride different: it wasn’t a solo epic but a group ride across some of the most remote country in the West. Want the full journey, border to border? Ryan documented every day on his YouTube channel. What You’ll Hear Why a third Divide: Ryan on returning to the route for the ACA’s 50th anniversary, and what’s changed since his first run. Turning a ride into a community event: Why Connor opened the Colorado-to-New Mexico stretch to anyone who wanted to join, and what it was like riding with a couple dozen people. Life on the route: Remote resupply, long gravel days, and the moments that made the miles worth it. Low-maintenance bikes for big miles: Why a Gates belt drive and a sealed Pinion gearbox make sense when the nearest bike shop is days away.
